Once a shop for hats and farms imported from France, the Louvre Michaelense reopened in 2016 as a coffee shop and regional products store. This centennial and emblematic place of Ponta Delgada is renovated, yet retains its original design and the elegance of its high ceilings and woods.
With an environment that reminds you of old grocery stores and a neat cafeteria service, all available items have the stamp "made in Açores" and, above all, are very good. Teas, preserves, jams or liqueurs from Vila Franca do Campo are some of the products that make us come back, and with a Saturday brunch available. Another decoy of the Louvre is the "Segredo", a chocolate cake that is the equivalent to the Mona Lisa in Paris.
In addition to gastronomy, it also has regional handicrafts with some of its own brands - the baskets of bicycle brand Avó Catita are an example of an original product of the house.
